One morning in October, Donna DesRuisseaux headed to a local bridge near her home in Goffstown, New Hampshire, armed with a sign that said: “Honk for democracy.” The 62-year-old business manager was taking part in a new tradition of protesting on various bridges and overpasses throughout the state.

Thousands Will Rally in NH Oct. 18 to Say ‘No Kings’. "Coinciding with the No Kings rallies, the NH Bridge Brigade will have banner teams on about 25 major highway overpasses from Nashua to Franconia Notch.  Teams typically display signs visible to motorists with pro-democracy slogans.  Greta Roberts, a spokesperson for the Brigade, said bridge protest actions will take place in nearly all states on Saturday."

WMUR News highlighted the New Hampshire Bridge Brigade’s overpass actions, showcasing how communities across the state are uniting in defense of democracy and freedom.

NHPR reporter Lau Guzmán covered a Portsmouth bridge action opposing Pease Airport’s role in transporting ICE detainees. Demonstrators gathered to highlight concerns about deportation flights, federal immigration enforcement, and New Hampshire’s connection to ICE operations.

Active with the Activists (Concord): Travelers heading to New Hampshire’s lakes and mountains on a Friday afternoon encountered banners reading “No Kings,” “Fight Fascism,” and “No Troops in US Streets,” accompanied by American flags. It was the latest outing for the NH Bridge Brigade for Democracy, which reported having teams on 25 overpasses.
